Powder Coating

Powder coating is our speciality, and we have the expertise, technical knowledge and experience to deliver the highest quality results for any project. Our team of seasoned professionals powder coats items small and large, from wheel rims and batches of aluminium extrusions right through galvanised metals like gates and fences. All powder coat mixes are free from solvents and release almost no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

You can choose a start-to-finish solution making use of our comprehensive pre-treatment facilities – including drying in our drying oven and baking in our 20m finishing oven – or powder coating only to get your items finished.

Our powder coat colours include the full range of colours and finishes from Dulux, where both standard and made-to-order colours are available. With Dulux’s range of special effect colours, you can also achieve metallic, rippled, textured, high-gloss, matte and hammer finishes.

SPRAY BOOTH

Once we know that your items are ready to coat, we begin the process of powder coating. This begins with connecting your chosen powder coat colour to the spray gun, moving the item to the spray booth which prevents contamination during application, then applying a thick coating.

Our spray booth has been optimized for the most efficient powder application, and ensures that the product has a consistent, contamination-free coating.

BAKING OVEN

Once coated, the items go to our purpose-built baking oven to cure at a specific temperature, which varies from colour to colour. Our oven is fully equipped to meet the requirements of a quality powder coating.

During baking, and the powder coat melts and penetrates the surface of the material, protecting it with a strong and durable layer in your chosen paint colour.

20 METRE DRYING OVEN

The final step is drying for an extended period of time at the temperature defined for the chosen colour. Our 20-metre drying oven can accommodate even the largest parts for coating.

Different powder coatings require different curing temperatures and baking times to achieve an optimum coating and flawless finish.
